Apartment and condo prices in Bangkok have been rising over the last decade, especially in the city’s most popular expat areas. As such, a lot of the “complete guides” to Bangkok real estate from just a few years ago feature prices that are out of date at best and 30-40% too low at worst. Apartments in Bangkok for 10,000 Baht or Less. Most sub-10,000 baht apartments in Bangkok are located toward the end of the BTS and MRT lines. You’ll find a lot of apartments in this price range from On Nut BTS onwards to the end of the Sukhumvit Line, and in the Huay Kwang to Bang Sue stretch of the MRT.
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time.
Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it. Good location - very close to Asok BTS & Terminal 21 Downside: thin walls so can hear neighbours in hotel with their screaming children in the night.

Lots of rules about the place but no effort made to clean the walls of the many dead & squashed mosquitos. It wouldn’t have taken much to clean the walls - we did.
The 2 bedroom apartment was fine - a lamp broke when we were there, fell off the fitting. We cleaned it up and brought it to the reception: was told this was ok but after check out was told that it was going to cost SGD 130! That approach was very disappointing given the other issues around noise and cleanliness. The apartment was fine - good for a small family, close to decent facilities.
Staff on site were fine. Shame about the management. Location is very good, just 3 minutes walk from Asoke BTS and 5 minutes walk to Terminal 21. The apartment (unit 4D) can easily accommodate 6 guest. Within a 10 minutes walking distance, you will find lots of restaurants, convenient stores, massage places. The only issue which is out of anybody's control is the very heavy traffic on Sukhumvit Road during peak hours, so best to take the BTS or MRT instead of taxi if you need to go anywhere.
It takes less than 30minutes to get to DMK airport in light traffic. Stayed for 2 nights and switched hotel as mosquito situation worsened. There are not 3-4 but tens of number of mosquitoes! Staff only provided insecticide spray and repellent, and I need to self help. There were ants too. See photos (hopefully the photos are listed).
Refund process for other 2 nights was tedious. Good: Location, large units. Bad: Mosquitoes, no 24/7 staff support, unstable Wi-Fi signal and internet connection. Note: VAT and cleaning are payable separately for my booking.com booking.
